The question is - how much time passed between Sette taking Duane to their room and Sette heading out? And why did not she leave through the window or at least through the back door, instead of walking out right through the main lobby for everyone to see? Intent or omission?
THIS WHOLE SCENE IS PERFECT AHAHAHAHA oh man, Sette, I sure hope Duane doesn't come back to his senses here without you around, because he'll be in for a huge shocker XD "DEAD AROUSED" lmao, I do love Sette. I find it amusing, too, that racy taboo dime-store books exist in Ulestry XDD "in love with a lizard" bahahaha, I want to hear more about that sordid interracial love tale!
I can't let it be to comment on irritation details on otherwise awesome pages. Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't sure Sette was going out again; my first thought was that she'd be thieving, then disappearing. The reason might be that she moves right in both the last panel and the one where she heads off to the room with Duane. But never mind. This comic is almost perfect, so who cares 'cept for picky corbie. :)
I get this sneaking suspicion that she just locked him in there and took off before he wakes up and the fireworks start. Guess we'll see whether he considers blowing up someone else's room impolite.
Awesome pages, well worth the wait :)
LOL. That is terrible commentary, Ashley.
<3 I love Duane so much. He's my favorite character for sure, and has been since I stumbles across this comic around the half-point of chapter 2. I've read through it so many times and I have to say this is my favorite webcomic. I can't wait for more, and I hope that someday you'll have printed copies.
@ eschmenk, Ashley said on Formspring, "Being located in a border town, the Happy Tentacle is happily set up to also accept sem." Hope that answers your question. And I also loved Sette's commentary. She really is the perfect foil for Duane. He's too stuffy and clean, she's too raw and dirty. But together, they make the best dysfunctional couple (and I mean that in a father and daughter way) AND they somehow are able to work as a team...or...at least get from one place to the next. Now, a part of me thinks Sette will actually keep him there for the night to keep him relatively safe, but another part of me wonders if she is going to split off and sneak around to find Stockyard's hideout. Hmm.
These pages made me so happy. Poor Duane. At least he can rest in a bed and not in the woods. Let us hope that no one goes into the wrong room to find Duane there unguarded.
I wonder where Sette is going through, and oh man that book.
@ littlebixuit I thought so too! Especially with the way it moves. It could be enchanted to move I suppose, but I prefer to think it's all her.
I'm more worried about the madam who put such a dense girl on the front desk, lol, although perhaps there's not a lot of trouble.
can you make post cards of the entrance to "the happy tentacle", complete with the "heated, discrete and soundproofed" sign? because they'd sell like hotcakes. hot-pink writing that says "Greetings from Cresce" (or is it ulstry?)
jeez i love sette so much right now, that girl is mad-funny
