I was just thinking that Ephsephin was taking a long hard look at his life from the first few panels. This caused the last panel to be especially hilarious for me when he actually started talking to Jivi about it.
This is yet another sign of great artwork and characterization, so much got communicated so easily.
Although, it does help that we all know just how much of a beating he's taken on what's becoming a regular basis for him.
Silver that likes pain, huh? I can see why a government, especially a warlike one, might want that. Injured soldiers could be easily finished off by it, if it can spread like a disease. Of course if the war starts going badly, that could just as easily make it worse... oh, Blacktongues, what have you done?
Also, two things. I really have got to stop posting before my mind is empty. 1: How come Jivi's ear getting bit didn't trigger a reaction? Guessing it just wasn't painful enough; 2: That is some neat mood lighting, Ashley! Was that just a shutter over it, or is it some kinda touch-responsive pymaric, or both?
Somehow I always thought that Ephs was a real bum, living with his Ma when 35 and doesn't have a job kind of a guy. Yet he did helped her with the dishes if she asked and there was nothing on TV, or took out the garbage every now and then. And so, Starfish came with a golden opportunity, and not so thinking it through Ephsephin decided to go for it, kind of liking the easy money and ignoring the amoral side of the buisness, couse he never was that moral anyway and what the heck there's slavers everywhere.
Well Ephsephin has had enough happen to him that he may very well have been beaten to self realization. Which would be great, I love it when random thugs develop personality.
Of course, he could get killed on the next page.
@Davecom3 ack, slipped my attention, I can't always read every comment or the Formspring stuff but... she's still a copper looks like, with those red eyes of hers and that hair. Ashley called attention to that when Sette was looking at the border crossing security. (admittedly it's probably not the same woman)
@Vicki probably one of those "better rat traps" poor Eph.
